Modern rugs for Boutique Hotel: The Schwarzwand project in Lech

Italian design meets Alpine Ski Resort luxury reimagined: the Boom rug collection for mountain chalet elegance

On the snow-covered slopes of Lech am Arlberg, among the most exclusive mountain chalets of the Austrian alpine ski resorts, architect Birgit Elsensohn has reimagined the historic boutique hotel Schwarzwand, her family’s property, with a vision that challenges traditional alpine design codes. Here Italian design meets contemporary comfort through natural materials and rigorous timeless simplicity.

Modern rugs from Boom‘s collection in wool and light bamboo fiber, handcrafted with precision, are at the heart of this modern design project: created in two custom tones – a deep amber reminiscent of alpine tree resin and a delicate ivory – these handmade rugs define all custom-sized suites and common areas, from the fireside bar to the relaxation spaces. Their natural texture and versatility for all rooms dialogue with alpine oak wood and Italian marble, offering authentic comfort that preserves the charm of the historic Walser house. The perfect choice for those seeking comfort in a boutique hotel where alpine tradition and design sensibility merge in every detail.
